WHEN TO SEND

When should you stop an email or text?

Stop if the person left your list or never joined it. Pause if the item, deal or link is wrong. Check for a new order or the same email from another app.

01 · They did not sign up

A phone number for delivery is not a signup for sales texts. An email address on an order may not be an email-list signup either. Shopify explains these as separate choices.

Check the signup record. If you cannot show they joined, pause the sales message.

02 · They left your list

When someone asks to stop, update each app that sends sales messages. A new visit or order does not add them back. Nor does playing a game.

Google says leaving a list should be easy. It says to honor requests within 48 hours. Local rules may apply too.

03 · They already bought it

Check for a new order before a cart reminder goes out. If they bought the item, stop that reminder. A first-order offer may no longer fit either.

An order update or care guide might help next. Set that up as its own message.

04 · Another app will send it too

Your app may send a welcome while Shopify sends a cart email. Check all the messages the shopper will get. Include ones waiting to send.

Choose one app for each job. Adding an app does not change your other apps’ send rules.

05 · The facts are wrong

Pause if the item sold out, the link broke or the deal is not set up. Check each price and end date too.

AI can write a clear line with a wrong fact. Fix the fact, find a useful new message or skip the send.

06 · They are waiting for help

Someone with a lost order may not want a cheerful sales email. If your team knows about a problem, check if the send should wait.

myuser.ai may not see another support inbox. Do not assume apps share that data. Check first.

Write down why you stopped

Keep a short note: “No text signup” or “Another app sends this.” Some reasons mean stop. Others mean check again after a change.

Keep requests to leave the list in place. For other cases, ask what would make the message useful. Then choose whether to send it.

Try a sample choice

Inbox Arena lets you pick a message, time and offer for a sample shopper. It is a game. It does not prove myuser.ai sees every support issue or stops every kind of send.

In your store, check the shopper’s page and send settings before you turn messages on.

When to send, and when to wait

Each example explains what happened and why a message may help—or why it should wait.

Cart completed · Change the plan

The shopper left a tote at 10:00 and bought it at 10:12. A cart reminder is still queued for later.

What to doPause the cart reminder

The shopper has already bought. Stop the cart reminder and check which app sends order updates.

A phone number without a text signup

A customer added a phone number to their shipping address. The profile has no SMS marketing subscription.

What to doCheck the channel permission

A phone number at checkout does not mean the person agreed to marketing texts. Check their signup first.

Two apps sending a welcome

A new subscriber is about to receive a welcome from the existing email tool and another from a newly installed app.

What to doCoordinate the welcome flow

Check the welcome and offer in both apps. Choose which app sends it before turning on both.

A deal that has not been set up

An AI draft promises free delivery tonight, but no matching offer or delivery rule has been configured.

What to doRemove the unsupported promise

Set up a real offer or remove the promise. Check that the deal works before you send.
